Number 2

Schedule an engagement shoot

If you’re a little camera shy many photographers offer an engagement shoot as part of their package so it’s a good idea to take them up on this. This is a great opportunity to get to know your photographer and how they work, you’ll also get the opportunity to exchange idea’s when it comes to which photo’s you did like and which you didn’t…This way when it comes to your big day you’ll feel a lot more comfortable in front of the camera.

Number 3

Don’t be afraid to take a bit of direction

Knowing how to pose in certain situations can be tricky… DON’T WORRY! Your photographer does this for a living and had a lot of experience in posing couples. If your unsure of anything then just ask your photographer! But nine times out of ten they will talk you through everything.

If you really hate posed photography then try looking for a photographer that offers lifestyle photography. Lifestyle photography mainly aims to capture couples in different situations or real life events with just a little bit of direction, this makes it a lot less formal and can achieve amazing results.

Number 4

Make a reasonable shot list

A shot list for your photographer can be very helpful when it comes to those formal group shots, however bare in mind that these shots can take a little longer than you think. Trying to track down a family member while standing around can be testing for even the most patient of brides so it’s good to keep those group shots down to a minimum… Maybe look at around twenty max.

You don’t really need to provide a list for shots throughout the day unless it’s something very unique or sentimental, remember you’ve hired a professional photographer so trust in them to get the shots.

Number 5

Say relaxed and enjoy the day

You want your photos to look as natural as possible so relax and enjoy the day! It will go so fast so make sure you’re soaking in every moment, even if it rains your photographer will be able to capture you in the best light and locations.

REMEMBER! The more happy and relaxed you are the better your photos will turn out.
