Fun Bridal/Hen Do Games
Article Published 12/05/2023
Hen parties are brilliant aren't they! A chance for all the brides close friends and family members to have a pre-wedding celebration as they change from 'Miss' to 'Mrs'. Hen parties range from bridal themes, a change of destination including games, drinks, plenty of dancing, laughs and cheers. I believe it's important to keep the atmosphere uplifted at all times especially at a hen party, sometimes you may not know everyone that is attending the hen party, therefore ice breaker games are a great way to get all your guests to bond together.
I recently came back from a friend's hen do in Greece, which i did not know a mass amount of the girls there, but it was the best weekend which i wish we could do all over again! We all got on together perfectly, everyone was so upbeat, it was non stop laughing and i have made some truly wonderful friends from it!
Remember some games do include you asking the groom beforehand so planning and preparation for your hen party is advised to make the evening flow!
I'm going to give you a few bridal party games that you may want to incorporate into your hen party:
1. MR & MRS- Get one of your cheif bridesmaids before the hen party to ask the groom a series of questions of who they think is right regarding each question. The same questions will be posed to the bride. The bride will have two padels with the words 'Mr' & 'Mrs', if they get a match, they can offer a shot to any team member of your hen do as the bride matched the same answer to the groom. If the bride gets a question wrong, the shot is on them! Example: Who is the tidiest? (Mr or Mrs)
2. WEDDING DRESS TOILET ROLL GAME- Split your hen group into two teams. Get a roll of toilet paper and dress your bride up in a wedding dress by rolling the toilet paper around the bride to create a wedding dress. You have a 2 minute timer to try and complete the roll whilst dressing your bride up. The winner is the group for the best designed dress and if they complete the roll, extra points! The losers can face a forfeit of the brides choice.
3. WEDDING CHARADES- Each member of the hen do team has a turn of recreating a wedding charade using the card they are given. Wedding charade cards can be bought online or can even be printed online using some websites (bridalshower101.com). Each guest has a 2 minute timer to reinact the phrase or movie relating to the wedding theme. This is a great way for your guests to interact which each other.
4. TWO TRUTHS & A LIE- Each guests writes 2 truths and a lie. Once the questions have been written down, the group mix up the answers and give them someone different. The member reads out your answers whilst you keep stum and the guests decide which guest this is and also which answer is a lie!
5. NEVER HAVE I EVER- This game involves a question for each member of the hen party that they individually read out loud, if you have done what the individual posed in the question, you take a sip of your drink. The more outragous the better- this gives your team an insight into your wild side and can be quite the ice breaker!
6. DRAW THE GROOM- Each member of your hen party gets a notepad and a pen/pencil and they are all required at the same time to draw the groom with the notebook above their head at all times. The best drawing at the end wins! A very interesting game so its time to get your artisitic skills out and draw carefully. Did i mension you only have 5 minutes to draw the groom?
7. BEER PONG- Get a set amount of cups and divide the group into two parties. Each party has a turn to throw a ping pong ball into the cups, if the team get one in, the other team must drink what is in the cup. Be creative, the drinks could be a concoction of anything (or not alcohol related). The first team to clear their cups are the winners!
These games are just a few that are out there for you to incorporate into your hen do. Remember, preparation is key to ensure your hen party flows. Have the best evening/days, dance, let loose, have fun and give your bride the best bridal shower that she could imagine!
