What we're all about
I’m Damien. I’m a Cambridge wedding photographer shooting throughout the whole of the UK and beyond.My intention is simple; To produce beautiful images that capture the genuine spirit, emotion and joy of your wedding day with a relaxed, uncontrived and unobtrusive approach.
I”m a part of the newer breed of documentary photographers. My emphasis largely is focused on natural images and capturing genuine emotions. Laughter, tears, fun, joy and love.
Your wedding day will pass so quickly that it’s hard to take it all in. The big moments of the day, the small details and the split second gems that can easily be missed in the craziness of it all – you can rest assured, I will endeavour to capture them all in a vibrant, colourful and carefully composed set of beautiful images.
I treat every image as a piece of artwork and an important jigsaw piece in telling the story of your day.
My other passion is creating beautiful, romantic and genuine portraits of you as a couple – relaxed, in love and happy but most importantly being yourselves – all in natural soft light and surroundings. You won’t see me to be carrying tons of equipment around and barking instructions at your guests. Just a few group shots for the family album and the rest is “as it happens”
Whilst I’m a Cambridgeshire wedding photographer – I do cover the whole of the UK & abroad. Locally, I regularly shoot weddings in Cambridge, Ely, Suffolk, Essex & Norfolk. I’ve been fortunate to experience many types of weddings at a diverse range of venues across Cambridgeshire and beyond.

“We met Damien for a coffee and informal chat about 4 months before the wedding to discuss what we were looking for from our photos, having been drawn to his natural style from the pictures on his website. We hadn’t planned on an engagement shoot, but Damien includes one in his package and it’s a very worthwhile venture, getting the chance to spend more time in each others’ company in order to feel more relaxed in front of the camera. We absolutely loved our photos, despite the challenging light of a cinema setting so we already knew we had chosen well by this point! On our May bank holiday wedding day, we suspected we’d be up against the weather, and we had clouds, spitting, a torrential downpour and sunshine – 4 seasons in a day! Damien was completely on the ball throughout the day, paying close attention to conditions and changing light. Many people who have seen our photos have commented on how lovely the weather must have been, which is not the case at all! We were just lucky to have a very dedicated and skilled photographer with an excellent eye. For someone who is very self-critical I am not the easiest to please, and I am genuinely thrilled with our wedding photos. As well as a beautiful set of atmospheric, romantic, couple shots outside in the evening sun, there are the most incredibly well-captured candid shots of friends and family that we could ever imagine. Damien was everywhere all day, and yet we barely saw him! “After Meeting with Damien one evening both myself and my bride to be, knew that we had found our photographer! Damien was just what we were looking for in a wedding photographer someone who would blend in and feel like one of the guests, capturing moments otherwise unseen. He also shared his love of shooting with prime lenses – something which I have in common with him, as I believe it makes the photographer move around the subject more and produces a better framed image. When done well the resulting images are amazing and let me tell you Damien shoots incredibly well. Our photos are stunning and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. What is your style of wedding photography?
Photojournalism with a love of beautiful portraits. For most of the day you’ll barely notice me, I like to blend in with the guests or fade into the background so people forget I’m there! I’m not afraid to get up close and personal for the killer shots, cheeky winks, a solitary tear or the moment your bridesmaid nearly chokes on her drink with laughter.
I always take 30 minutes of the day to be alone with my bride and groom to capture some beautiful portraits, usually when the light is soft and golden.
Other than that I just go with the natural flow of the day!
Why did you choose Wedding Photography?

We love the idea of portraits but not sure we’ll be comfortable posing?
Not many people are – you haven’t met my wife! I try to keep things as natural as possible using natural soft light and natural surroundings. I have techniques that help you to relax and be yourself on camera. If your having a wonderful day it will show on the photos!
Do you do traditional posed shots?
Other than the bride & groom portraits I take a limited number of group photos. I keep this to around half a dozen or so (around 20 minutes) to stop the guests getting too bored. I ask that somebody in the wedding party is nominated to gather people together to help run things a smoothly as possible. I always do the “whole group” shot first.
Do we get all the photos you take?
I take a lot of photos of your wedding! You can trust me to put together a set of highlights that document the day in the most comprehensive way possible. Every image is edited with real care and attention and treated as an individual piece of art.
How many photos will we get?
For all day coverage you can normally expect between 350 and 400 images in a mixture of colour and black & white.
How do you provide the photos to us?
I use a website called “Pixieset” you will be provided with an exclusive PIN number to access your images and then you can download and do whatever you wish with them!
Will we see any before then?
Yes, I’ll put a couple of sneak peeks on either my blog or instagram page.
Can we share your photos on Facebook / Instagram / Twitter/ Pinterest?
Yes please, as long as you acknowledge me with a hashtag!
Can we buy prints?
Yes, as soon as the collection is ready to view you can order prints, it’s really easy and the quality is amazing.
What about a wedding album?
Yes. I don’t normally talk about albums until after the wedding as you’ll want to see your photos first to get an idea of which ones you’d like to use and how many. I design the layout and send a proof for you to review before processing. The company I use is Folio Albums who share many of my values.
What if you’re ill on the day?
I rarely am, and even if I am it will take something very serious or a major personal crisis for me not to be there. I have back up photographers who I would pass you onto. Failing that you would receive a full refund and £250.00 compensation.
Are you insured?
Yes I am fully insured.
What do you mean by engagement shoot?
It’s a bit of a mis-leading term really. It just means a 1 hour (or so) shoot to get some lovely pictures of you as a couple together before your wedding. It allows you to get an idea of how I work with couples as a photographer and gets you used to being in front of the camera. Or if you fancy something different….
Do you cover the whole of the UK?
Yes, most of my packages include free travel anywhere in England. I will consider going anywhere if it feels right for both you as a couple and me as a photographer.
Can we have a second photographer?
Of course, it’s an optional extra. I have a solid network of other talented pro’s that I work with regularly. Price is based on location and length of coverage.
Do we have to meet you before the wedding?
Not necessarily. I’m happy to talk via Skype, FaceTime or old skool phone call. If We have an opportunity to meet then great. My free engagement or boudoir shoots offer a chance to see how I work and get you used to being photographed before your wedding day.
Can you sum up what makes you different?
My feelings are that your wedding should be the best day of your life and the best wedding your guests have ever been to. I want to capture not only you but your loved ones having the most amazing time ever. These are truly fleeting moments that you’ll want to cherish forever and capturing people being themselves as they are (were) when you fell in love and tied the knot is what will really bring back strong emotions in years to come. Once it’s gone, it’s gone but photography that captures the real essence of the occasion can help to bring it back again. I hope that’s what I do.
