Winston Sanders Photography

What we're all about
Hello! I’m an award-winning destination wedding photographer based in Norwich, Norfolk. Whether your wedding is in Norfolk, London, Essex, Suffolk, Cambs, or anywhere in the UK or indeed anywhere in the world, I will be there. I love to shoot natural looking images of real emotions and real moments. My aim is to document weddings so that couples and their families can relive their special day for years to come. I blend in, stay calm and smile a lot because I love what I do! I can take some photos of you away from your guests looking amazing in super speedy time. No problem. I can also take the group shots you require with the minimum of fuss. But best of all I can capture all the magical moments that you won’t ever want to forget – the tears, the laughter and everything inbetween. For me, that is best thing a wedding photographer can offer.Keith Smith
Not only is Winston an absolute wizard with a camera but he is also one of the nicest people you will meet. Other than his brilliant photography one of Winstons greatest skills is being able to mix in with all the other guests and not knowing you had a photographer there but just another great guest at your wedding. We are so glad that we chose Winston as our photographer for our wedding and he managed to capture our day perfectly which has been fantastic to look back on. Everyone who has seen our photos have commented how great the pictures are and juts how good Winston is. Thank you so much for your great work!! Keith and Natalie.

Winston is a brilliant photographer - and a really lovely person to have involved in your wedding day. We found Winston after searching for a photographer that was going to capture our laid back summer wedding as it happened without being 'in the way' or detracting from the day. From the first meeting with him at our venue we knew Winston was exactly who we had been looking for and he made the whole process so easy and enjoyable. He instantly understood the type of photos we wanted and on the day somehow was invisible while capturing every great moment perfectly. The final photos are better than anything we could have ever imagined and looking at them is like reliving the day all over again. We would 100% recommend Winston!

Winston was our photographer for our elopement to Iceland and for our wedding celebration when we returned.
He has an amazing eye for the perfect shot. Some of our favourite photos from Iceland are places that he spotted at the side of the road.
Winston photographed our two very different days perfectly. Our photos are simply stunning and have captured all of the joy, emotion and laughter of each day.
All of the guests at our wedding celebration loved Winston. He put everyone at ease with his unobtrusive style, including a camera shy bride and groom!
We couldn't recommend Winston highly enough.

Winston was the photographer at our son Kev and daughter-in-law Claire's wedding. He captured the joy of the day perfectly and also the impromtu 'magic moments' that are such delightful treasures. Highly recommend.

Picking Winston as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made. We had heard excellent things, and seen his beautiful pictures from previous weddings, but Winston still managed to surpass our expectations! Every dealing we had with Winston, from discussing our ideas and requirements before the wedding, to receiving the photos shortly after the wedding, was an absolute pleasure. We have had almost as many compliments about Winston himself as we have about the photos he took. He had the perfect balance of being unobtrusive, yet still managing to set up perfect shots, and get the guests to where they needed to be. Winston managed to beautifully capture our many different groups of friends and family, but did it quickly and efficiently, allowing us plenty of time to mingle with our guests, and plenty of time for some amazing couple shots that we will treasure forever. I really can’t recommend Winston enough for any event!
Why should we hire you as our Wedding Photographer?
There are three factors most people consider when choosing their photographer – do their photos look nice, price, and will they be a nice person to be around on my wedding day for both me and my guests?
If you haven’t already, please do check out my portfolio and for my prices please do get in touch for my latest price brochure. As for someone that would be good to have around on probably the most important day of your life, here’s why I could fit the bill…
My clients and their guests always seem to be really happy with me and my work at the end of the wedding day before anyone has even seen any of the photos. I wasn’t entirely sure why at first. Did they just have lots of faith in what the pictures will look like or was it something else? I learnt that it’s because I’m naturally unobtrusive, I don’t want to take over, I don’t want to be bossing you or anyone else about, I’m nice, friendly, I listen and I just fit in. It might sound like a silly thing to mention, when it’s my photography skills you’re undoubtedly most interested in, but I think these things are really very important so that you and your guests enjoy the day to it’s fullest. I wont turn your wedding into a photography shoot. The obligatory groups shots, of course. A few posed shots of you looking amazing, definitely. But, you’re getting married to celebrate your love for each other with your friends and family, not me! So I wont keep you away from people for long. I’ll capture you looking fantastic without you even realising I’m there most of the time.
I listen carefully to what you’d like me to do on your wedding day. It is your day. I can be there for as long or as little as you like and will do everything I can possibly do to capture what you want. On an average full day shoot you’ll receive at least 350 photos from me, all of which will be edited to make them look their best. I edit them all in colour and then process them all again in black and white so that you get two sets of images. As you can see from my photos, I generally go for a very natural look without tons of photoshopping. I predominantly use a photojournalistic (i.e. story telling or documentary) style so that you can relive your day for years to come.
This is your special day, and I want to be there to document it, to capture moments that would otherwise fade as memories but instead last forever in beautiful imagery. A clichéd line that all photographers perhaps use, but hey, it’s true.
How did you become a Wedding Photographer?
I began taking photographs with a 35mm SLR camera at the age of 10 and never stopped. I also love to travel and gained my first payment for simply following the hobby that I love by selling some of my travel photography images at an exhibition. It gave me a huge buzz! Being paid to do something you love is amazing. I also love music and as an avid gig goer, I soon became perhaps the one of the most sought after live music photographers in York at that time. My photographs were printed in a music magazine and both bands and solo artists approached me for live and portrait shots. This led onto me becoming employed to shoot festivals such as Galtres Music Food & Drink Festival. I soon started to be asked to take photos of friend’s weddings and absolutely loved it. I found it a real honour to be asked to be such an important part of their special days and was humbled to witness such precious moments. It didn’t take long for friends of friends to start making enquiries, and before I knew it I was considering a career change! I absolutely love weddings and continue to feel truly humbled to be able to be such an important part of people’s hugely special day. Most importantly I love the emotion – the happiness and joy of two people coming together and celebrating their love with their friends and family. It is infectious. My main aim as your photographer is to capture that emotion so that you can relive it again and again for the rest of your lives.
Where are you from?
I’ve recently moved to Norwich, Norfolk. If you don’t live near me don’t let that put you off. I will travel anywhere. So far Sydney, Australia has been the furthest! I’m originally from Cambridgeshire but moved to York in 2000. I lived there for 12 years with a brief stint in Hull and a year travelling around the world taking photographs of some very pretty places. I’ve just moved to Norwich from Essex where I lived for 2 and half years (gosh that went fast!) and now call Norfolk home. I frequently travel all over the country and to various European cities.
