YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY STORYFrom beginning to end there are characters, heightened moments of joy, quiet moments of thought, fleeting expressions of surprise, awe, enjoyment … A wedding day is an inspiring tapestry of feelings, relationships, little details, finishing touches, fun, smiles and happiness. As your wedding photographer I will capture and record all this with beautiful documentary wedding photography, for you to preserve for generations.
Your story. Your day. Your special memories. Wedding photography is all about capturing you as a couple; your love for each other and your friends and family who you choose to celebrate with. It’s an emotional process I am privileged to be a part of and it is not unlike illustrating a fairytale.
As a photojournalist wedding photographer, I blend unobtrusively into the framework of your big day, working quietly in the background to document every aspect and to provide a lasting and emotional record of your day, as seen through your eyes and the eyes of your guests. I choose to work with couples I have a genuine rapport with and each and every wedding I photograph is a real honour.

What is Documentary wedding photography / Reportage / Photojournalist Photography?
These terms refer to same thing: an observational approach where the photographer does not direct or pose people. It requires patient observation, knowing where the best pictures are likely to happen in advance, fast instinct, knowing people and gauging situations.
Are you a full time photographer?
Yes I am. Photography is my sole source of income and my focus is wedding photography however I do undertake other photography commissions, such as Newborn, Family Lifestyle, Portraiture & Feminine Beauty.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, I have full Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Employers Liability and equipment cover.
Can you fit into the timing of our day?
It’s a good idea to discuss the timings for the day with me as early as possible to make sure there is time for me to get between different venues etc. I like to be at the ceremony around ½ hour before the start if possible to capture the general excitement. Ideally set aside 20-30 minutes at some point for some couple portraits and 15-20 minutes for group photos.
Can we provide you with a meal??
Yes please. It’s really helpful to be fed at the same time as the other guests. No one wants to be photographed eating, so this is a good time for me to have a break but be ready for the speeches & after dinner entertainment. There’s no need to seat me with your guests, a quiet spot away from the party where I can check through the images from the day so far will be perfect.
How many group photos do we need?
I usually suggest having just a few family group photos, five or six should cover it and one full group shot if the situation allows. I can help you plan which you need.
