Walking down the aisle is a beautiful moment where you get to see your partner for the first time at your wedding ceremony. The build up to this moment can be nerve wrecking as all eyes are on you as you make your grand entrance down the aisle, however it is a truly beautiful and emotional moment to witness and i believe that it deserves a beautiful song to really get those tissues at the ready.
Traditionally, many wedding couples opt to walk down the aisle with their dad by their side however nowadays, weddings are straying away from tradition and consider friends, other members of family or even opting to walk down the aisle solo to make their entrance as personable to them as possible. The beauty is, there is no right or wrong way to walk down the aisle, the choice is simply down to you and your preferences.
Choosing songs to walk down the aisle is usually decided between the couple however there are a couple of key facts to think about when making your decision.
Firstly, the pace, ideally you don't want to choose a song that requires you to walk faster than your normal pace. If a song is chosen and is a little too up beat, see if you can find a slowed down version or even a version that is acoustic so you can freely walk down the aisle without feeling rushed. Remember, your bridemaids usually walk down the aisle before yourself so make sure that the song is long enough for all your bridesmaids and for you to also walk down the aisle to the same song,if this is what you wish.
Alternatively, if you wish to consider another song for only you to walk down the aisle too, be sure to consider if you want to have a song with lyrics or have an instrumental version of your chosen song.
