Does anyone get that familiar airport duty free feeling when you smell a strong fragrant perfume/aftershave? Just me?
There is nothing greater than giving someone a hug or even when someone walks past you and you get a good whiff of their aftershave/perfume that instantly gives your nose a lovely little treat. Wedding day perfume is a personal choice that should reflect the newly weds style and personality. Wedding days are usually a long, stressful day full of greeting your guests, plenty of hugs, handshakes & dancing so its important to be smelling fresh throughout your day. I'm going to discuss the 6 most popular wedding day fragrances to make you and your signifcant other smell like a dream on YOUR big day. If you are purchasing a bottle for your day, remember to trial and test the fragrances, consider the opinion from your significant other also.
1. COCO CHANEL MADEMOISELLE- One of the most iconic fragrances on a wedding day. Chanel describes this perfume as ' an ambery fragrance, a spirited and voluptuous scent, sparks of fresh and vibrant orange immediately awaken the sense, a clear and sensual heart reveals the transparent accords of jasmine and rose. Finally, the trail unfurls with vibrant accents of Patchouli and Vetiver'. For me personally, i love this perfume as it is a long lasting smell that does not disappear the minute you have sprayed it. Although it is worth quite a pretty penny in price (£136 for 100ml), this is a perfume which can be used for special occassions like your wedding day to make you smell like a BOSS. The bottle can be placed amongst your wedding accessories, dress & shoes to capture your wedding day favourites on photo too!
2. JO MALONE POPPY & BARLEY- This is another popular fragrance on your wedding day. The top notes within this fragrance are blackcurrant, poppy & barley creating a fresh and crisp scent to the fragrance. Many of the Jo Malone fragrances are extremely popular on wedding days, not just this one. Depending on the size of the bottle, you can expect to pay £110 for a 100ml bottle of this bad boy. Again, the simple and elegant design of the bottle create a great photo with all your wedding day attire.
3. CHLOE- Yet another favoured fragrance is Chloe. Chloe is described as an 'Intimate and sensual scent, the fragrance draws on the classic rose, the ultimate feminine scent, to create a modern and timeless perfume'. This fresh floral scent has a delicate hand tied ribbon decoration added to the bottle, this once again is a perfect delicate bottle to add into your wedding photo alongside your accessories. 100ml bottle will set you back around £119
4. BLEU DE CHANEL- This is a classic aftershave perfect for special occassions like a wedding day. This popular scent is long lasting, some say it can be smelt 5 hours after application, guaranteed to get compliments. This scent contains top notes of Lemon · mint · pink pepper · grapefruit and citrus. As far as aftershaves go, this is a personal favourite of mine, i think the scent smells incredible! This gorgeous product for a 100ml bottle will cost around £113.
5. DIOR SAUVAGE- This product flew off the shelves when it was first introduced. Johnny Depp , the main man advertising this aftershave, gave a cool edgy vibe which made us all think, this has got to be good.. and they did not fail! The composition of this aftershave is described by Chanel as 'an aromatic-woody fragrance that teams New Caledonian sandalwood with notes of ambery cedar and tonka bean'. No matter who is wearing this aftershave, the lingering scent can be smelt for hours after application. Overall, a dreamy yet popular choice.
6. PACO RABANNE INVICTUS- This lovely smelling aftershave is described as 'a heroic woody-fresh fragrance where the vibrant meets the muscular. With notes of Grapefruit, patchouli, sensual guaiac wood and ambergris. You read it yourself, BE A LEGEND and consider this fragrance as an option on your wedding day. This fragrance is one of the cheaper alternatives and can be purchased for around £75 for 100ml Eau de Toilette.
