How To Avoid Becoming A Bridezilla

Here are some simple tips to keep in mind and follow when it comes to the planning and preparation of your wedding to avoid becoming a bridezilla.
1. Delegate tasks- If you find that planning is becoming a little too much for you and you have a close member of family, best friend/Maid of Honour, bridesmaids or even your husband/wife to be who is happy to help you along the way, then simply ask in a polite manner, if they are able to lighten the load. Do not feel like you need to take on ALL responsibilities alone, by simply asking for help, this can alleviate any unnecessary stress that you simply do not need. The key is to stay organised, relaxed and enjoy your planning and preparation leading up to your big day. Tell them the task in hand precisely and clearly so they can avoid any mistakes! Be sure to communicate with them at all times to avoid any kind of miscommunication.
2. Stay calm- Whilst wedding planning may be at the forefront of your mind, it is so important to take some time for self care. Self care as we know is so important for our own mental wellbeing. From taking a walk outside in the open, running a relaxing bath with your favourite scented candles, to meeting up with friends for a coffee and a catch up, these simple tasks need to be in place to ensure that you remain calm and collected. For moment like this, be sure to try and completely switch off from wedding planning within these times of self care, so when it does come back around to wedding planning, you have a clear mind and can plan more effectively. Spend time with your loved one and enjoy each others company, the last thing you want is to be at each others throats as wedding planning is starting to consume you. Being glued to your laptop isn't good for you either, screen time is so important not only for your mental health but for your eyes and posture, always make sure you look after number 1!
3. Get opinions- Although wedding planning is solely around what you and your other half would ideally like to include on your day, be sure to ask opinions from your nearest and dearests even though you may not always agree with them. Having different opinions is a great way for you to sometimes rationalize things that you may not actually need within your wedding to also reduce your wedding budget. Do you really need to have 3 different types of entertainment at your wedding or can you reduce this by popular opinion to help stay within your budget? Some ideas may appear over the top but like I mensioned, you may not agree with other peoples opininons however it is a great way to get their point of view as a guest rather than through the eyes of you.
4. Be realistic- This is an important factor to consider when planning for your big day. If you have a wedding budget, be sure to stick to it. It can be so easy to book unnecessary add ons that you simply may not need. Vendors, although they have a job to do, will likely try to upsell you bundles as part of your wedding day, prosecco on arrival for your guests, canopies, overnight stays etc, you can be easily influenced by these but the bill soon starts to mount up. Be realistic of what you actually want to include within your budget and not necessaily want you can envison for the sake of social media purposes. Sometimes we can get so influenced by these big, over the top extravegant weddings, that you loose whats actually important, which in reality is declaring and celebrating your love to your partner.
And the most important tip is to make sure that you....HAVE FUN!
Wedding planning should be exciting, the build up to the big day, where all your hard work, planning and preparation becomes a reality. Avoiding fall outs, stress and being demanding about your expectations is simply something that you should avoid at all costs.!

How To Avoid Becoming A Bridezilla
I can totally appreciate that when it comes down to wedding planning, stress levels will be high as you certainly want to make sure that everything runs smoothly on your big day and that you have everything under control. It's easy to become overwhelmed when you have tasks to complete, choosing your perfect wedding dress along with fittings, make up trials, accessory shopping, making sure your venue and vendors have been booked, wedding cake tasting, the list goes on. However it is also important that you keep your cool and do not take out your stress out on your nearest and dearest around you, and they will also want your day to run as beautifully as you imagined it. Basically whats I'm trying to say is, do not allow yourself to turn into a bridezilla when you feel like the tasks in hand are becoming overbearing as falling out and causing even more unnecessary stress is not good for you, your partner or others involved when trying to plan your perfect day. Here are some simple tips to keep in mind and follow when it comes to the planning and preparation of your wedding to avoid becoming a bridezilla.
