One Dress or Two?

Trending in 2023, the idea of two dresses, one for ceremony and another outfit change into a reception dress has become increasingly popular, even with celebrity weddings. I speak about Sophia Ritchie alot as i just love her overall look for her wedding day- simply stunning! Some brides opt to have their classic bridal wedding dress and will later in the night change into a new relaxed party dress to ensure the bride can really bust those shapes on the dancefloor.

Personally, i do love this, the idea of wearing something a little more comfortable and stylish, while giving you the more formal look for the ceremony. Whatever you decide to choose, i'm sure you will look amazing regardless!

How do you choose the right reception dress?

The choice is simply down to personal preference, the colour or style which reflects your personality, whilst also taking into consideration being able to move around freely and comfortably, especially on the dancefloor!

Here is a list of some examples of reception attire that you may want to consider on your wedding day if you do decide to have a change of outfit:

For a minimalist and chic look, you can’t go wrong with a slip dress. This simple and elegant style is easy to wear, dance in, and it comes in various colors, styles and fabrics. Affordable slip dresses can be purchased via websites like Asos, Topshop, Shein, PrettyLittleThing, Misguided or Inthestyle.

For a playful and flirty look, you can opt for a short dress. This style is perfect for showing off your legs and shoes, and it will keep you cool and comfortable all night long. You can choose a dress with sequins, lace, or ruffles to add some texture and sparkle.

For a dramatic, two in one look, you can go for a detachable train. A long gown for the entrance and photos, and a mini dress for the party. You can easily remove the train when you’re ready to dance, and attach it back on when you want to make an impression.

I also love the idea of a jumpsuit or bridal suit for the reception party. This look is extremely stylish and sophisicated and can be dressed up with accessories if you wish to add a hint of sparkle or colour to your attire.

I would advise trying on multiple reception dresses to get an overall feel and look that you want to go for. I have no doubt that regardless on what you decide to wear, you will make the most stunning bride.
