Simple wedding ideas to incorporate into your wedding

Want to make your wedding stand out from the rest?

Why not incorporate a few simple but unique wedding ideas into your wedding to get your guests talking.

Who knows, maybe your wedding ideas may influence others. Sharing's caring right?

I will also include some sustainable wedding ideas for you to consider- It's good where possible to be eco-friendly too.

1. PERSONALISED CAKE TOPPERS- This is becoming increasingly popular within the wedding industry. Why not ask your caterers if they can design the bride or groom to represent you and your significant other? - If you wish to purchase miniature non-edible versions of yourself as a keep sake, consider companies like ETSY who can design your cake toppers to look like you and your partner. Sometimes all you need is a little information about yourselves or even to send over a picture to your designers for reference.

2. CONSIDER A UNIQUE SMALLER BOUQUET- Smaller and unique wedding bouquets are trending right now! Remember sometimes less is more. Does your wedding have a particular colour or theme? If so, your choice of flower arrangements can reflect this by speaking with your florist. Why not consider adding charms, pearls or even a sentimental element to your bouquet like a photo of you and your partner when you first met in a locket or even a remembrance charm of a family member that may not longer be with you but can be with you in spirit on your big day to give it your own personalised touch. Why not consider a darker looking bouquet of flowers to contract against your dress/suit to make it POP on the day infront of your guests and on your wedding photos. Another idea to consider for your bouquet is to not have flowers at all. The use of buttons, decorative pumpkins, floral hoops, feathers and even fabrics can be designed and created to give your bouquet a non traditional look. The choice is YOURS.

3. MAKE YOUR OWN WEDDING FAVOURS- There are so many little tips and tricks for you to make your wedding more sustainable and eco friendly. Handmade candles and handmade soaps are a great personable touch to add to your wedding guest favours. Add your own smells using essential oils and colours to create personalised soaps for particular guests or simply make them all the same to save the faff! They take minimal time to create and could be a great way for you to unwind of an evening to distract you from nerves leading up to the big day.

4. CONSIDER FOOD TRUCKS FOR EVENING SNACKS- Popular with outdoor weddings, why not consider hiring a food truck for when your guests are close to kick out time. The chances are that your guests may have worked up quite an appetite busting their moves on the dancefloor all night. Who doesnt love a taco or a tray of chips at the end of the night? Your guests can take these away with them as a snack as they leave ensuring full bellies all round and no hangry guests! Why not switch this up to a vegan food truck to be more sustainable too!

5. INCORPORATE PAST WEDDING SHOTS INTO YOUR DAY- Maybe you have a classic photograph of your parents or grandparents nupitals pulling an iconic pose? Recreate the image with your newly wed partner as a past and present comparison. This is a great personal yet sentimental touch reliving the moment.

6. BRING ALONG YOUR POOCH- This is becoming a really popular idea to bring along the newly weds furry best friend to the ceremony to make them part of the day. You can incorporate the theme or colour to your wedding but adding a dickie bow collar or even a floral lead to give them a grand entrance. If you have a close friend or family member that can return them back home for the evening do, this would be ideal. Give your photographer a heads up, just incase you want to have photograph with your furry best friend to add to the memories on the day.

7. PERSONALISED WEDDING INVITES- Why not consider adding a personal touch to your wedding invites but incorporating a photo of you and your partner to them? Be creative, be funny to reflect your personality through your wedding invites. E-invites are also becoming popular, which allows you to send text messages/emails to your guests without wasting paper being more eco friendly whilst avoiding the cost of delivery to all guests. If you have a theme or colour scheme, add that into your wedding invites too to really bring everything together!

8. CONFETTI ALTERNATIVE- Ribbons wand can be made by YOU if you want to get creative. Get all your guests to grab one for photos as the happy couple leave the ceremony to add a flash of colours in your photos without being messy! The use of confetti is slowly being restricted in venues due to the amount of clearing up that is required afterwards! If you're allowed confetti at your venue, why not consider biodegradable confetti instead as an eco friendly option.

9. DISPOSABLE CAMERA SNAPSHOTS- This is a great and unique way of adding even more snapshots to your day by placing disposable cameras on each of your wedding tables for your guests to use. The beauty of disposable cameras if that no-one will see what the images are until they are developed. This would be a great way for you and your partner to sit down and flick through them together to reminise about your magical day whilst having a good old laugh together.

10. CONSIDER GAME WITH GUESTS BEFORE SPEECHES- Why not consider a game of heads or tails before your wedding speeches are due? Get all your guests to stand up in their places and place there hands on there head or make a tail with your hands behind their back. Choose a dedicated person to host your game as an ice breaker between guests. Whoever is the last person standing is the winner! This is a great way getting all your guests together to play along and who knows. . maybe there's a prize for the winner.
