First Dance Songs

The first dance is an intimate moment between you and your partner on your wedding day that you can cherish forever, your first dance as a married couple. This is a moment on your wedding day, that you and your partner own the dancefloor, surrounded by friends and family creating a picture perfect moment for your photographer and also your guests to take some sneaky photos whilst you're both in the moment.

Part of your wedding day planning, will require you and your partner to sit and come to a decision for your first dance song. This can be quite a challenging and difficult choice to make however there are plenty of ideas for you to start planning song choices. Do you have a favourite song that reminds you of one another? Did you go to a gig together that sparks precious memories for you both? Do you have a favourite film that you watch together and love the soundtracks? Personally, i would work together for song choices but also both make a note of separate songs that you think of individually and see if you have any matches! Imagine, its likeTinder but for first dance songs lol!

Think about the tempo of the songs too, would you prefer a more upbeat song to dance too? or would you prefer a slowed down dance? Always think about how you would be able to dance to these songs, if it helps, why not create a 'first dance' playlist on (Spotify, Amazon Music or whatever app you both use) with your other half, songs can then be added or removed as you wish, then play them together and practice your first dance moves if youre worried that you have 2 left feet whilst also taking in, if the song is suitable for you both.

The beauty of first dance songs is that you can choose whatever song you want that makes it personable to you as a couple, I mean if you want to have a heavy metal soundtrack for your first dance then go for it! If you have a live band playing your songs throughout your evening reception, be sure to ask them well in advance if they can play your chosen first dance song. Again, it would be ideal to meet with your performer to get a feel for the tempo the song will be played, to avoid any awkward dance moves!
